Last updated NeuraTracker for iPhone and Android

This Privacy Policy describes how SC Inc collects, uses, and discloses information when you use the NeuraTracker mobile application (the “App”). NeuraTracker is a field-operations tool for sales and merchandising teams doing store visits, missions, shelf and price scanning, inventory, and benchmark surveys.

    1Who we are#

The App is provided by SC Inc. For questions about this Policy or your data, email a.jaffy@scinc.ai.

NeuraTracker is licensed to organizations for use by their staff. Where your employer set up your account, your employer decides what information is collected through the App and why, and SC Inc processes that information for them and on their instructions. Where SC Inc processes information for its own purposes (operating, securing, and maintaining the App), SC Inc is responsible for that processing. Section 9 explains how this affects requests about your data.

    2Information we collect#

    2.1 Account and profile information

When you sign in and use the App, we process:

    • Email address and password (authentication)
    • First name and last name
    • Phone number
    • Role, assigned stores, and preferred language

This information is required to provide the service.

    2.2 Location information

With your permission, the App collects your device’s precise GPS location while the App is in use. It does not collect location in the background. We use location to show the stores assigned to you near where you are, to confirm you are on site when you check in to a visit or complete a mission, and to record store GPS positions.

    2.3 Camera and photos

With your permission, the App uses your device camera to photograph shelves, price tickets, product displays, furniture, and inventory, and to take proof-of-completion photos for missions and benchmark surveys. If you allow access to your photo library, you can attach an existing photo to a report, and the App saves the photos you capture to your library so you keep your own copy.

    2.4 Motion sensor

While the camera is open, the App reads your device’s accelerometer to show a level guide that helps you hold the phone straight when photographing shelves. These readings are processed on your device only. They are not stored or sent to us.

2.5 Biometric unlock (Face ID / fingerprint)

If you turn on biometric unlock in Settings, the App asks your device’s operating system to confirm your identity with Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint. The check happens entirely on your device: the App never receives, stores, or transmits your biometric data. Only a yes/no result is returned. To re-sign you in after a successful check, your sign-in credentials are kept in your device’s secure storage (iOS Keychain or Android Keystore). They are deleted when you sign out or switch accounts.

    2.6 Push notifications

With your permission, the App registers for push notifications through Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google). It sends the device token to our servers so we can notify you about missions and activity. While the App is open, it also keeps a secure real-time connection to our servers to deliver in-app notifications.

    2.7 Crash and diagnostic data

Production versions of the App use Firebase Crashlytics (Google) to report crashes and errors. A crash report can include your device model, operating system version, App version, the time of the crash, and technical details of the error (such as a stack trace). We use this data only to find and fix problems in the App. It is not used for advertising or to build a profile of you.

    2.8 Task and activity data

We process the data you create or submit, including store visit records, mission results, price surveys, inventory counts, furniture and display records, and benchmark responses.

2.9 Data stored on your device

So that the App works offline and opens quickly, some data is stored on your device using on-device storage (an SQLite database, App preferences, and secure storage). This includes your profile details, authentication tokens, photos and entries waiting to upload, GPS coordinates linked to those entries, and your App settings. Pending items upload automatically when you are back online.

2.10 What we do not collect

The App does not collect your contacts, calendars, microphone audio, health data, or browsing activity, and it does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

    3How we use your information#

    • Sign you in and keep your account secure
    • Provide the App’s core features: visits, missions, price and shelf scanning, inventory, and benchmarks
    • Confirm that field activities happen at the right locations
    • Send operational notifications about missions and activity
    • Show stores on a map
    • Detect, diagnose, and fix crashes and errors
    • Tell you when a new version of the App is available
    • Respond to your support and privacy requests

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

    4How we share your information#

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

    • Your organization: the organization that set up your account can see the field activity you record through the App.
    • Our backend servers: these store and process account, task, location, and photo data.
    • Service providers that make specific features work (see the table below).
    • Authorities, where required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.

Google Firebase CrashlyticsCrash and error reportsDevice model, OS and App version, error details

The App does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.

    5Permissions summary#

    • CameraRequired for those features

Scanning shelves and price tickets; capturing inventory, mission, and benchmark photos.

    • Location (while in use)Required for those features

Showing nearby stores, confirming visits and missions on site, and setting store positions. Foreground only.

    • Photos / media libraryRequired for those features

Attaching existing photos to reports and saving captured photos to your library.

    • NotificationsOptional

Operational push notifications about missions and activity.

    • Face ID / fingerprintOptional

Unlocking the App quickly. Checked on your device; biometric data never leaves it.

You can withdraw any of these permissions at any time in your device settings (on iPhone: Settings → NeuraTracker; on Android: Settings → Apps → NeuraTracker → Permissions), without contacting us. Withdrawing a permission stops the features that depend on it, but does not delete data you have already submitted. See section 6.

    6Data retention and deletion#

We keep your account and activity data for as long as your account is active, or as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. Crash reports are kept by Firebase Crashlytics for a limited period (currently 90 days) and then deleted automatically.

You can ask us to delete your account and the personal information linked to it at any time by emailing a.jaffy@scinc.ai from the address on your account. We confirm receipt, check that the request comes from you, and then delete or irreversibly anonymise the data. The exceptions are records we must keep by law, or that your employer must keep as business records. We will tell you if one of these exceptions applies to your request.

Data stored on your device is removed when you sign out or uninstall the App. If you sign out or uninstall while work is still waiting to upload, that pending work is discarded.

    7Data security#

We use industry-standard protections. Data travels between the App and our servers over encrypted HTTPS, and authentication tokens and saved credentials are kept in the iOS Keychain or Android Keystore. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

    8Children’s privacy#

The App is meant for employees and authorized field staff. It is not directed to children under 13, or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

    9Your rights#

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, to receive a copy of it, or to object to its processing. To use any of these rights, email a.jaffy@scinc.ai. We do not charge for this and will not treat you differently for asking.

Because employers set up the accounts, some requests concern information your employer controls (see section 1). In that case we pass your request to your organization’s administrator and keep you informed of the outcome. You don’t need to work out who to contact first: write to us either way.

You can also withdraw the camera, location, photo, notification, and biometric permissions at any time in your device settings.

    10Changes to this Policy#

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version here with a new “Last updated” date. If you keep using the App after the changes take effect, you accept the revised Policy.
